Win Gold Award of Excellence for “Stewardship of Self” Program

Doylestown, PA – June 11, 2009 — The Board of Pensions of
the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s “Stewardship of Self” flagship
marketing brochure won “The Award of Distinction” in the Communicator
Awards competition. The brochure was designed to rollout the
Board’s “Stewardship of Self” campaign. HG Marketing Group
in partnership with Furia Rubel Communications, both of Doylestown,
Pa., designed and developed the flagship marketing brochure.
“The Award of Distinction” is presented by the International
Academy of the Visual Arts for projects that exceed industry
standards in quality and achievement.
In 2008,The Board of Pensions adopted a strategic communications
plan developed by Furia Rubel Communications in partnership
with HG Marketing Group. The plan was designed to address
the Board’s “Key Driver” to develop a comprehensive communication
and education model for “Stewardship of Self” and to integrate
it with the Board’s healthcare, pension, education, and assistance
programs. The key driver included expanded emphasis on Stewardship
of Self to improve the well-being of Plan members and to promote
the integration of benefits and services available to them
from and through the Board of Pensions.

“fortune teller,” like those folded by children, that would
emphasize the ‘four elements of self’ including health, vocation,
spirituality and financial well-being. The goal was to engage
attendees of the General Assembly and to provide them with
something to take home and discuss.”
The “Stewardship of Self” Flagship brochure incorporated comprehensive
marketing imagery and public relations messaging while serving
as an interactive tool. Rolled out at the General Assembly,
the interactive brochure showcased the comprehensiveness and
Community Nature of the Benefits Plan, presented the Benefits
Plan and Assistance Programs as a holistic framework designed
to support members in concert with their Stewardship of Self
efforts, and helped to build Plan Members’ understanding of
the level of ownership they need to take to maximize the value
available to them, to their ministry, and to their families
from the Benefits Plan and Assistance Programs.
